Bodies the Exhibition

Went to see "Bodies the Exhibition" at South Street Seaport. The bodies all had smiles on which you would think would make it EVEN CREEPIER, but it actually made you forget that these were real human bodies. It was very interesting, but definitely not for the squeamish. Eat ahead of time, as you probably won't be able to eat right when you get out. Tickets for adults are almost $30 each. I read an excellent review of the exhibit by a fellow blogger - Gadling attends "Bodies the Exhibition".

August in Ireland

Uh, totally don't know how I forgot to post this. In late August we went to Ireland for a week. We traveled around the Ring of Kerry and stopped in Dublin, Kerry, Galway, Cork, Kilarney and a wedding in Sligo. My FAVORITE thing to see were the Cliffs of Moher. Naturally I saw Blarney Castle and kissed the Blarney Stone for good luck, had a Guinness in the Guinness factory, visited castles and saw celtic crosses, visited W.B. Yeats grave, the giant's tomb, and grazing sheep on Benbulben (the mountain where "Darby O'Gill and the Little People" was filmed. Oh, and we also stayed at bed n' breakfasts and I had an Irish breakfast.

Ireland wasn't as green as I expected it would be. Only Benbulben looked like what I thought Ireland would look like. Figures since I based my view on Darby O'Gill!

Long Island Vineyards

For the second year in a row we went wine tasting to the Long Island's North Shore Vineyards. We stay at the Soundview Inn, which has an AMAZING view of Long Island Sound. The rooms are all suites which are large, but haven't been updated in years. Make sure to get a room on the second floor so you have a balcony.

We go on the Jewish holidays in October, when the vineyards aren't as crowded as they are on the weekend, so you don't have to deal with too many people. We pack cheese, crackers, sliced pepperoni, a corkscrew and a blanket. October is the PERFECT time to go so you can stop at all of the farmstands, go pumpkin picking, have fresh corn, and go thru a corn maze.
